Timing Couldn’t Be Worse

The Bucks are set to tip off the NBA season in just one week, squaring off against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 26. But here’s the kicker: they’ve spent their entire training camp installing Stotts’ offense, and now, they’re in a rush to change gears. That’s a tall order and, more than likely, their offense will endure some growing pains as a result (more on that in a moment).

In a league where teams are meticulously fine-tuning their systems and ironing out the kinks during this crucial pre-season phase, the Bucks are essentially hitting the reset button. Sure, there will be elements that the assistant coaches can carry over, but it’s safe to say that the team will be adopting a somewhat different system, and they’ll need to make that adjustment in short order. It’s a challenging situation for any team as they strive to find their groove right out of the gate.
