Disappointing Packers: T.J. Slaton

The Packers moved on from a couple of veteran defensive linemen last offseason and handed the reigns to several young players, including T.J. Slaton. They also moved Kenny Clark to defensive end, opening up a spot at nose tackle for Slaton.

Slaton’s role on the defense is to eat up blockers, take up space, and establish a strong presence at the line of scrimmage. Unfortunately, opposing offenses have been able to move him off the line and create big running lanes to gash Green Bay’s defense. Slaton has had some strong moments, but the Packers are counting on him for a bigger presence throughout the rest of the season.
