Packers Breakout Candidates: Christian Watson

Christian Watson was dealing with that pesky hamstring to begin the season and didn’t make his 2023 debut until Week 4 against the Detroit Lions. Oddly enough, the Packers’ offense has performed worse with him on the field.

Watson is a game-changer for the offense, and they need him fully healthy to honestly evaluate what they have at quarterback and with this unit. He can break a big play at any time and has world-class speed. Even when he doesn’t get the rock, he pulls defenses toward him and creates open space for his teammates.

Watson didn’t look fully healthy against the Raiders, but should be 100 percent coming out of their bye. That’s great news for Green Bay, as they should look to scheme him open early and often.
