The goal of the 2023 NFL season isn’t necessarily to win a Super Bowl for the Green Bay Packers. Instead, they have their sights set on a more realistic accomplishment: Developing their young players.

Green Bay is evaluating several young players, including quarterback Jordan Love, to gauge if they have the correct long-term pieces to build around on both sides of the ball. That task has had fans riding the highs and lows of the emotions through the first five weeks.

Although the roller coaster will continue all season long, here are five players on the rise coming out of the Packers’ bye.

Keep a very close eye on these five players on the Green Bay Packers as they are on the rise coming out of their bye week.

Packers on the Rise: Colby Wooden

The Packers had a changing of the guard on the defensive line when they let veterans Jarran Reed and Dean Lowry walk in free agency and replaced them with two middle-round picks. Wooden was the first defensive lineman selected, but clearly fell behind Karl Brooks throughout the preseason. However, now it looks like he’s making a comeback.

He’s slowly seeing his snap counts increase, as he’s coming off two of his strongest performances. Wooden has the pass-rushing skills to snowball those positive showings into season-long growth. He’ll get his next chance against a pass-happy Denver Broncos squad.
