The hope is the Milwaukee Bucks end this season winning their second NBA championship this decade.

The Bucks added Damian Lillard in a blockbuster trade pairing him up with superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. Khris Middleton, who will we discuss shortly, and Brook Lopez also return after briefly flirting with free agency.

Giving up Jrue Holiday to get Lillard will hurt the team defensively. The firepower Dame Time provides on the offensive end and his ability to win a playoff series on his own might be worth it.

It is not like the Bucks’ defense will be terrible now that Holiday is with Boston. Giannis and Brook are still worthy of an NBA All-Defensive team spot.

The biggest thing the Milwaukee Bucks need to win a title is their core players staying healthy in the postseason.

Losing Middleton in the 2021 playoffs was a big reason the team was eliminated that year. Giannis going out for a couple of games last postseason contributed to the franchise’s surprise early playoff exit.

There are some storylines to watch this season as Giannis and company aim to add another championship banner to the Fiserv Forum rafters.

Adrian Griffin trying to prove he is the right hire.

Griffin was hired to replace Mike Budenholzer, who was fired after the Miami Heat shockingly sent the Bucks home in the NBA playoffs’ first round.

Budenholzer was outcoached during that series, and it was just time to move on.

Coach Bud helped the franchise win its first title in 50 years, but it became clear he was not going to take the team back to the NBA Finals.

Now, it is Griffin who is tasked with getting the Milwaukee Bucks back there. The hope is his rotations and defensive assignments are better than Budenholzer’s to get past Miami and Boston in the playoffs.
