Packers Off to Surprising Starts: Rasul Douglas/Jaire Alexander

These two cornerbacks are on this list for very different reasons.

Let’s start with the positives and focus on Rasul Douglas. He’s been all over the field this season, showing off his high football knowledge and dissecting plays before they even happen. His intuitiveness is one of his strengths and allows him to play freely and take risks. Through five games, he’s PFF’s fourth-ranked cornerback.

Jaire Alexander is on the other end of the spectrum. As one of the NFL’s highest-paid corners, the Packers have high expectations for him. Unfortunately, he’s playing the worst football of his career to begin the season. He looks disinterested at times, especially when it comes to stopping the run, and hasn’t been his elite coverage specialist. We know how good he is, and Green Bay is still waiting for that version to turn up.
