The Green Bay Packers were prepared to rely heavily on their offensive line to carry their offense through the early part of the season, but it’s quickly become one of their weaknesses, in part, due to their guard play.

Jon Runyan wasn’t known as one of the best guards in the NFL, but he has become a quality starter in the last couple of years. His spot as the starting right guard was unchallenged this season, as he earned that right via his play last season.

There’s still plenty of time to turn it around, as he’s proven to be a much more capable player than we’ve seen this season. However, if he doesn’t, he could lose his starting spot in 2023 and next year when he’s a free agent.

Let’s check in on four other players who are off to surprising starts–good or bad–for the Packers this season.
