3 Pressing Items for Packers Heading into Bye Week
Pressing Items for Packers: Make the Game Easy for Jordan Love
Matt LaFleur doesn’t have Aaron Rodgers under center anymore to rely on when times get tough. Now, it’s his job to be the leader and make the game easy for Love and this offense.
It starts with the offensive line, as I just outlined, but there’s a lot more to it. LaFleur’s game plan needs to make it easier for Love to complete throws. This includes short routes that get the ball out of his hands quickly, plays that get him on the move, and concepts that involve the Packers’ best playmakers.
Asking Love to shoulder this heavy of a load in his first season as a starter is unfair. He hasn’t looked good for long stretches this season–something he, his teammates and the coaching staff should all be held accountable for. Football is a team sport, and everyone needs to step up to make the game easier for Love.
