Pressing Items for Packers: Get the Offensive Line Right

The Packers’ offensive line was supposed to be the strength of the offense entering the season. David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins were going to provide one of the best left sides in all of football, Zach Tom was going to emerge as a good starter and Josh Myers and Jon Runyan were going to be good enough to hold the ship together. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out that way.

Bakhtiari played Week 1 and is out for the season. Jenkins has missed time, and basically everyone not named Bakhtiari hasn’t played up to their potential this season.

After a solid start, all hell has broken loose up front, including every defender who lines up in the box. Jordan Love has been running for his life, as his guys up front can’t protect him. Meanwhile, the run game continues to be a disaster with few holes to run through. If the Packers’ offense is going to turn it around, the big guys up front need to do better.
