Packers Unsung Heroes: Josh Myers

Josh Myers received a lot of heat and attention this offseason for being the weak link on the Packers’ offensive line. Green Bay was even going to move Zach Tom to center if Myers couldn’t get his act together.

Although a battle for the starting center job never appeared fully realized, Myers continued to receive criticism. He hasn’t completely shut up those critics this season, but he is off to a decent start. He’s only allowed six pressures–among the regulars on the offensive line, only Elgton Jenkins has allowed fewer with four. That may not be the best bar to set, considering how their line has struggled, but it’s worth noting.

He does have work to do in the running game, where the entire line has been a mess, but he deserves credit for being an average center and not a dumpster fire to start the season.
