Packers’ Trade Candidate: Budda Baker, Safety, Arizona Cardinals
Safety continues to be one of the weak points of the Packers’ defense. Darnell Savage and Rudy Ford are their starters and have performed as expected. That’s not a compliment, as the duo struggles on the backend.
Although the Packers don’t have a plan for the current state of safety, they also don’t have a long-term plan at the position either. That’s where Budda Baker could answer both issues.
Baker is currently on the injured reserve with a hamstring injury, meaning the Packers won’t be able to trade for him until he comes off it in the middle of October at the earliest. Baker, a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, could be among the most impactful players available to Green Bay at the deadline. They’d be wise to poke around and see what his price is.
