The Green Bay Packers are a team struggling to find their footing in the NFL, no matter how you view it. Their 2-2 record at the quarter mark perfectly indicates the average team they are at this juncture.

The good news is they have a lot of room for growth. I’ve been ranking their 16 rookies after each game, a group that makes up about 30 percent of their 53-man roster. That youth contributes significantly to them being the youngest team in the NFL.

Since I started the Packers’ rookie power rankings, there’s been one name at the top of the list. However, we have a new leader at the season’s quarter mark and some other movement down the rankings.

There is a new leader in the Green Bay Packers’ rookie power ranking following their Week 4 loss at the hands of the Detroit Lions.

  1. Jayden Reed (Round 2, Pick Pick 50) (Previously 2)
  2. Luke Musgrave (Round 2, Pick 42) (Previously 1)
  3. Anders Carlson (Round 6, Pick 207) (Previously 4)
  4. Dontayvion Wicks (Round 5, Pick 159) (Previously 3)
  5. Lukas Van Ness (Round 1, Pick 13) (Previously 5)
  6. Karl Brooks (Round 6, Pick 179) (Previously 6)
  7. Colby Wooden (Round 4, Pick 116) (Previously 7)
  8. Daniel Whelan (Undrafted Free Agent) (Previously 8)
  9. Tucker Kraft (Round 3, Pick 78) (Previously 9)
  10. Ben Sims (Undrafted) Previously 11)
  11. Carrington Valentine (Round 6, Pick 232) (Previously 12)
  12. Malik Heath (Undrafted Free Agent) (Previously10)
  13. Emanuel Wilson (Undrafted Free Agent) (Previously 13)
  14. Anthony Johnson Jr (Round 6, Pick 242) (Previously 14)
  15. Sean Clifford (Round 5, Pick 149) (Previously 15)
  16. Brenton Cox Jr (Undrafted Free Agent) (Previously 16)

Jayden Reed: Reed surpassed Luke Musgrave at the top of the list due to his own play combined with Musgrave’s porous showing. Reed has three receptions for 55 yards, including a 44-yarder. He continues to get open and make plays when the ball is thrown his way, earning the trust of Jordan Love. Meanwhile, Musgrave had the worst game of his NFL career and only caught one reception for one yard.

Dontayvion Wicks: Wicks has shown the ability to get open, but now needs to work on his consistency. After two solid games in Weeks 2 and 3, he had a goosegg against the Lions and only saw one target. Part of being a pro is bringing it week in and week out.

Lukas Van Ness: Van Ness played the most snaps of his career, logging 37 against Detroit. Unfortunately, his impact was limited, as he was neutralized by the Lions’ offensive line. He logged zero hurries in 11 pass-rushing snaps and only one tackle in 24 rush defensive plays. However, he stayed put because Green Bay is clearly trying to get him more involved on defense. His snap count is indicative of someone who the Packers want to get going and have big plans for in the future (as is his first-round draft status).
