4 reasons to like Milwaukee Brewers chances to win the World Series
By Todd Welter
The Milwaukee Brewers are division champions and looking for more titles.
The Crew clinched their third NL Central Division title in six years thanks to the Chicago Cubs losing to the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday.
The Brewers are the No. 3 seed on the NL side of the playoff bracket. They will host either the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, Miami Marlins, or Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card round next week.
Winning the whole thing will not be an easy task.
The Milwaukee Brewers won the National League Central Division title, and have a good chance to win the World Series for these four reasons.
If the Brew Crew can win the best-of-three Wild Card series, they must face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS. The Dodgers have eliminated the Milwaukee Brewers twice during these five postseason appearances in six years.
Los Angeles outscored Milwaukee 31-15 in six games this year. The Brewers mustered just one win against the Dodgers.
Although, it is a short series, so it is not like the Brewers do not have a shot (and we will get to why later). If they can eliminate the Dodgers, they will most likely have to face the best team in baseball, the Atlanta Braves.
The Braves put up 42 runs in six games against the Brewers this season and took five of those contests.
The Crew went 2-10 against the Dodgers and the Braves, but that was before they started playing their best baseball in September.
The playoffs are all about avoiding having a bad week and stringing together good ones.
That is what gives the Brewers some hope to get past Atlanta, but we will discuss that in more detail soon.
It helps the American League does not have a dominant team, so you have to like the Brewers’ chances of winning their first World Series.
There are four reasons why that can happen.
