Packers: Top 10 Options to Replace Elgton Jenkins at Guard
Free Agents for Packers to Pursue:
Justin Pugh
Justin Pugh is the best guard remaining in free agency after the Minnesota Vikings signed Dalton Risner on Monday. He never quite lived up to the hype of being a first-round pick, but would provide Green Bay with immediate depth and talent. He’s not someone you want being a full-time starter at this stage in his career, but he could help hold things over until Jenkins returns.
Taylor Lewan/La’el Collins
The Packers already have two quality backup tackles in Walker and Nijman so it’s unlikely they will go the route of signing a free agent tackle instead of a guard, but I wanted to cover this option anyway. Lewan and Collins are better free-agent players than any of the remaining guards and would allow Tom to move inside to left guard.
Andrew Norwell/ Michael Schofield/ A.J. Cann
This trio would represent the last resort for the Packers. They’re all veterans who have started at some point in their careers, but have their best football behind them. This would probably happen if no internal options work out and Green Bay is desperate.
