Packers on Thin Ice: Devonte Wyatt

Devonte Wyatt, despite his potential and raw talent, finds himself on thin ice entering just his second season in the NFL.

The Packers invested a 2022 first-round pick in Wyatt, hoping he would become a game-changer on their defensive line. However, he rarely played during his rookie season despite underwhelming performances by his peers up front.

He began 2023 as the favorite to start alongside Kenny Clark, but is already falling down the depth chart. TJ Slaton earned the starting nod over Wyatt, as the former first-rounder is now clearly behind Slaton.

Despite entering just his second NFL season, he’s already 25-years-old. Green Bay presumably drafted him last year for his potential to contribute right away. That didn’t pan out and he could be in danger of sliding further down the depth chart if he’s not careful.
