With the Green Bay Packers getting ready to begin the 2023 NFL season, I’ve wiped the slate clean and am preparing to begin a brand new Packers stock market with a revamped look.

After each preseason game and significant event during training camp, I ranked risers and fallers on the Packers. I looked at where different players stood compared to their individual goals and whether they were trending in the right direction. You can check out the final edition here for a more comprehensive look.

At the end of the day, Green Bay accomplished many good things during their month or so of training camp and preseason. They built good habits and have an exciting and intriguing future ahead of them.

Entering the 2023 NFL season, we’re resetting the Green Bay Packers’ stock market to give everyone a clean slate and a fresh start.

Here are the players who ended the preseason as risers, with their arrow pointing up:

  • Jaire Alexander
  • Luke Musgrave
  • The entire defensive line
  • Emanuel Wilson
  • Karl Brooks (+2)
  • Sean Clifford
  • Carrington Valentine (+2)
  • Rasheed Walker
  • Anthony Johnson Jr.
  • Malik Heath (+2)
  • Kingsley Enagbare
  • Rudy Ford
  • Anders Carlson
  • TJ Slaton

And here are the guys who weren’t so happy about their performances:

  • Patrick Taylor
  • Yosh Nijman (-2)
  • David Bakhtiari’s health
  • Josh MyersCenter-Quarterback Exchange
  • Royce Newman (-2)
  • Sean Rhyan
  • Samori Toure

Those standings will be wiped clean entering the season, where I’ll assign everyone points based on their play each game. To keep it simple, these points will be -1 for a negative performance, 0 for a neutral game, and +1 for a good game. Each player will be based on a sliding scale, meaning players like Jaire Alexander, Kenny Clark or Aaron Jones will have to work harder for their positive grades than guys like Carrington Valentine, Karl Brooks or Emanuel Wilson.
