How Much Do Packers Like Brenton Cox Jr?

Part of the Packers’ inability/unwillingness to keep Ford has to do with the rise of Brenton Cox Jr. Cox is proving why he was a five-star prospect entering college, showing off his talent and potential for growth. He constantly pressured quarterbacks in the preseason and showed a knack for knowing when to get his hands up and bat passes as well.

He has to continue showing he learned from his mistakes in college, which led to him getting dismissed from two major collegiate programs. That may be his biggest challenge and only time will tell.

In the meantime, Green Bay can never have too many pass-rushers. Cox gives them another guy who can bolster their depth in the short term and potentially provide a long-term solution on the edge.
