Will Packers Only Keep 3 Tight Ends?

The tight end position presents an entirely different scenario, with Green Bay potentially slimming down to a mere three players. At the outset, there were four apparent shoo-ins—Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft, Josiah Deguara, and Tyler Davis. Unfortunately, Davis’s season-ending injury cast a shadow over these initial plans, placing the Packers in a challenging predicament.

Deguara doesn’t fulfill the conventional tight end role; head coach Matt LaFleur envisions him as more of a fullback. Consequently, the Packers might ultimately retain merely two rookie players at this position. Considering that Austin Allen is the sole other true tight end on the roster, his performance might not have left a substantial impression. This predicament could potentially prompt the Packers to poach a player from another team’s roster to bolster their tight end depth following cuts.
