Predicting Wisconsin Football’s 2023 Schedule And Win-Loss Record
The Wisconsin Football team is set to kick off their 2023 season in one week when they host Buffalo at Camp Randall Stadium. That will mark the start of the Luke Fickell era and a season with a ton of hype surrounding it.
It’s safe to say the Badgers’ hype train is full steam ahead. Fickell has turned the narratives surrounding Wisconsin on its head and has helped bring it into the modern era of football. He’s done a tremendous job of blending incoming talent with the existing players to give the Badgers a great shot to win the Big Ten West in its final season.
Who knows how it will all play out, but here’s my best prediction about each game the Badgers will play this season.

- September 9th At Washington State: Win
- September 16th Vs Georgia Southern: Win
- September 22nd At Purdue: Win
- October 7th Vs Rutgers: Win
- October 14th Vs Iowa: Win
- October 21st At Illinois: Win
- October 28th Vs Ohio State: Loss
- November 4th At Indiana: Win
- November 11th Vs Northwestern: Win
- November 18th Vs Nebraska: Win
- November 25th At Minnesota: Win
September 9th At Washington State: Win
This is Wisconsin’s biggest non-conference test, if you can even call it a test. However, that’s what we thought last year when Washington State came into Camp Randall and shocked the Badgers. Fickell should have the team locked in to avoid history repeating itself and this will be the best early test about how this Badgers team will fare in 2023.
September 22nd At Purdue: Win
Purdue went 8-6 last year and won the Big Ten West. They’re trying to carry that momentum into 2023, but have lost key players on both sides of the ball, including their head coach. Still, it marks the start of the Big Ten season for the Badgers and we’ll get our first taste of how their new offensive and defensive schemes match up in this league.
October 14th Vs Iowa: Win
This could be a preview of the two best teams in the West and the winner will hold a key tie-breaker over the loser. Iowa’s defense will be elite once again and will test the Badgers’ new-look Air Raid offense.
October 28th Vs Ohio State: Loss
This is the lone loss I have projected for the Badgers, and it comes at the hands of the big, bad Ohio State Buckeyes. Wisconsin will take a big step forward in 2023, but they’re still not in the elite class Ohio State is in. Hopefully, that will come in future seasons.

November 25th At Minnesota: Win
After dominating the series for so long, Wisconsin is starting to lose its stronghold over the Gophers. This is another game that could come down to two teams fighting for a Big Ten West championship. However, the Badgers will right the ship, avenge last year’s loss, and head into the Big Ten Championship game with one conference loss.
