Darlings From Packers Training Camp: Rasheed Walker

The Packers believed in Rasheed Walker last year, but even they couldn’t have predicted how quickly he would rise this year.

Walker is on the verge of overtaking Yosh Nijman as Green Bay’s lead swing tackle and could be a future starter on the left side. Walker has been taking David Bakhtiari’s spot with the starters when the All-Pro misses practices, which feels like more often than not.

His emergence has sparked rumblings of whether the Packers should trade Nijman following the conclusion of the preseason. Nijman is a free agent after this season and may not have a long term role if Walker is the real deal. This could be the start of a metoric rise.
