Packers On The Bubble: Jonathan Ford

Jonathan Ford’s standout performance since the beginning of training camp has been nothing short of impressive, as he relentlessly pushes for a roster spot. Yet, an obstacle looms large: Green Bay’s defensive line is already fortified with six roster locks—Kenny Clark, TJ Slaton, Devonte Wyatt, Colby Wooden, and Karl Brooks.

Ford, typically in the backup nose tackle role, has a chance to further his cause by sustaining his prowess throughout the preseason. He’s done a great job eating blockers and proceeding to shed them when necessary. Given the uncertainties surrounding the line, the Packers might find merit in retaining a sixth player to cultivate his potential for the future.
