Green Bay Packers linebacker Brenton Cox Jr. (57) runs through a pass rush drill during practice on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Ray Nitschke Field in Green Bay, Wis. Tork Mason/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin /

Edge rusher (6): Rashan Gary, Preston Smith, Kingsley Enagbare, Justin Hollins, Lukas Van Ness, Brenton Cox Jr.

Cut: Keshawn Banks, Arron Mosby

It could very well come down to either Brenton Cox Jr. or Ford for one of these spots, but I threw that theory out the window and gave them each a roster spot in this prediction. They should make the team if they are two of the Packers’ 53 best players.

Overall, this is a very solid group. Gary returned and it looks like he’ll be 100 percent ready for Week 1. That’s a massive boost for a unit that fell off without him. Enagbare has been impressive and will play a huge role. The only downfall has been 2023 first-rounder Lukas Van Ness, who has been quiet for large parts of the preseason.
