Packers Who Have Gone Missing: Yosh Nijman

Yosh Nijman had reservations about returning to Green Bay during the offseason, as he was determined to avoid reverting to a role where he solely served as a swing tackle and primary backup. Instead, he had his sights set on securing a starting position elsewhere.

However, Nijman remains in that swing tackle role for the Packers. After getting a chance to earn a starting spot at right tackle and taking plenty of reps with the ones on the left side in David Bakhtiari’s absence, it appears he’s solidly a backup at this point.

All signs point toward Zach Tom starting at right tackle despite Josh Myers’ struggles at center. At left tackle, Rasheed Walker has moved into the starting spot when David Bakhtiari misses practice. Those are two concerning developments for Nijman, who reluctantly returned and is already in a position he feared.
