Packers That Can Lock Up Roster Spots: Malik Heath

Malik Heath has done everything Green Bay has asked of him at the wide receiver position. Through two preseason games, he leads the team in receptions (8) and receiving yards (111). Heck, he’s even thrown some major blocks downfield to spring runners.

The reason he’s on this list comes back to special teams. He’s likely WR5 at this point–behind Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Samori Toure and Jayden Reed. How much offensive time will the fifth receiver on the depth chart really get?

The Packers are likely trying to determine how he can contribute on special teams if he makes the roster. After only playing one special teams snaps in their preseason opener, he was on a few more units in their second game. He needs to continue that trend in their finale if he wants to lock down a roster spot next week.
