Will Anders Carlson Be Ready?

The spotlight on Anders Carlson and the kicking game might seem excessive, but its significance cannot be underestimated, especially since Carlson’s performance has dominated the spotlight during nearly every practice session.

Remarkably, despite his fluctuating consistency, the Packers have yet to express overt interest in recruiting a new kicker to challenge Carlson in practice. Special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia has exhibited faith in Carlson’s potential, implying a readiness to weather the highs and lows of the rookie’s inaugural season.

This journey could prove to be quite the rollercoaster, as the rookie exhibits exceptional leg strength alongside a lack of accuracy. These attributes were symbolic of his college career and contributed to his unexpected draft selection. However, similar to the team’s approach to other positions, the Packers seem committed to playing the long game when it comes to the kicker position. As the preseason unfolds, all eyes will undoubtedly remain fixed on Carlson and his evolution.
