Whether it’s the Draft or free agency, the NBA is notorious for leaks. They have some of the best inside reporters of any sport and they do a tremendous job of passing information to the general public ahead of official releases. The schedule is no different.

The official schedule isn’t expected to be released until later this week, but that isn’t stopping us from beginning to piece together the who, where, and when of the Milwaukee Bucks 2023-24 schedule/season.

Using information from valid reporters across the league and official releases from the NBA, here are the Bucks’ games we already know about. I’ll continue to update this list as more games are leaked.

The NBA hasn’t officially released their 2023-24 schedule, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know some of the Milwaukee Bucks’ games for the upcoming season.

  • October 8: vs Chicago Bulls (preseason)
  • October 15: at Los Angeles Lakers (preseason)
  • October 17: at Oklahoma City Thunder (preseason)
  • October 26: vs Philadelphia 76ers (season-opener)
  • November 3: vs New York Knicks (in-season tournament Group Play game)
  • November 17: at Charlotte Hornets (Group Play game)
  • November 24: vs Washington Wizards (Group Play game)
  • November 28: at Miami Heat (Group Play Game)
  • December 25: at New York Knicks (Christmas Day Game)

Shams Charania reported the Bucks’ season-opener against the 76ers and their Christmas Day game against the Knicks. Milwaukee also played their first game last season against Philadelphia, but will get to host them this time. There will be plenty of storylines surrounding James Harden leading up to that game, as that situation promises to get messier before a conclusion is reached. That opener will be broadcasted on TNT on the first Thursday night of the season.

For the first time ever, the NBA will implement an in-season tournament, which is why we know about the games from November 3-November 28. Milwaukee was randomly assigned to Group B along with the Knicks, Hornets, Wizards and Heat. The league will have in-season tournament games every Tuesday and Friday from November 3-28, except November 7 (Election Day).

When the NBA finally releases the entire schedule, don’t be worried that they forgot how to count. They’re only scheduling 80 games for each team to provide flexibility for that in-season tournament. The winner of each group play, plus the team in each conference with the best record and finished second in their group, will advance to the quarterfinals. From there, the league has a complex formula to determine how each team will get to at least 82 games for the upcoming season, with the two teams advancing to the in-season tournament championship notching 83 contests. Here’s a full breakdown of the tournament and how it will impact the Bucks.
