Fearless Packers Training Camp Predictions: Jonathan Owens Earns Starting Spot

Green Bay’s safety situation is undoubtedly a primary concern heading into the upcoming season. While Darnell Savage is expected to be one of the starters, his performance in 2022 was lackluster, ranking 87th out of 88 qualified safeties, according to PFF.

The Packers allowed Adrian Amos to depart in free agency without securing a suitable replacement through the draft or free agency. Instead, they signed Tarvarius Moore and Jonathan Owens to compete alongside Savage and Rudy Ford.

Owens had a challenging season in 2022, ranking 86th among all safeties according to PFF. However, his 2021 performance was solid, showcasing his versatility as a skilled tackler capable of contributing all over the field. It is only a matter of time before he contends for one of the starting safety positions and aims to bolster Green Bay’s struggling secondary.
