Sean Rhyan, 2022 NFL Draft, Round 3 Pick 92

Sean Rhyan, Green Bay’s third-round pick from just a year ago, is facing mounting skepticism and doubts about his future in the NFL. Despite his draft status, Rhyan’s rookie season was alarmingly uneventful, as he saw a mere one offensive snap throughout the entire year. Such a lackluster performance raises serious concerns, especially considering he remained healthy throughout the season.

At this point, Rhyan’s place on the roster hangs in the balance, with the possibility of being cut before entering his second year. The Packers’ decision to select Rhyan at Pick 92 raises eyebrows, particularly when comparing him to the talent that was still available in the draft.

One example that stands out is safety Kerby Joseph, selected by the Detroit Lions just five picks later. Joseph quickly made his mark in Detroit, starting 14 games in 2022 and proving to be a vital piece of their defensive unit. Joseph had an impressive rookie season, even intercepting Aaron Rodgers in the season finale.
