5 Way Too Early Needs For Packers in 2024 NFL Draft
The Probables: Offensive Tackle
The Packers’ offensive tackle position presents a compelling mix of established talent, potential, and unproven players heading into the upcoming season.
At left tackle, David Bakhtiari serves as the anchor of the offensive line. However, concerns arise due to his history of injuries and the financial implications of his rising salary cap hit, which cloud his future in Green Bay. Zach Tom had an encouraging rookie campaign and aims to build upon that success in 2023. Yosh Nijman, on the other hand, is only under contract for one more year. Additionally, the team boasts a group of young tackles, including Caleb Jones, Luke Tenuta, and Rasheed Wallace, who have yet to prove themselves at the NFL level.
Given the uncertain outlook for multiple offensive tackles, it appears likely that Green Bay may target the offensive tackle position early in the 2024 Draft. Acquiring a more reliable and promising prospect would provide valuable support as the team focuses on long-term building. By addressing this position in the draft, the Packers can fortify their offensive line for sustained success.
