2. Ray Nitschke

The Packers’ defense of the 1960 was loaded with talent as demonstrated by the numerous players from that unit who are on this list. However, Ray Nitschke, the intimidating middle linebacker, was the orchestrator of those elite units.

Nitschek spent his entire 15 year career with the Packers and often flew under the radar, earning only one Pro Bowl and two All-Pros. Regardless, there’s no denying he was instrumental to everything the Packers wanted to do on defense.

1. Reggie White

Reggie White was the final piece to the Packers’ Super Bowl puzzle and helped push them from a great to an elite team in the mid 1990s. He signed an unprecedented four-year, $17 million contract with the Packers in 1993 that nearly broke the bank for Green Bay. Fortunately, he proved to be worth every penny.

In six years with the Packers, he racked up 68.5 sacks, including four seasons with at least 11. He was unstoppable in Super Bowl XXXI when he brought down Drew Bledsoe on three consecutive passing plays.
