Top 10 Defensive Players In Green Bay Packers’ History
5. Herb Adderley
Let’s call this the defensive back page. Herb Adderley, the shutdown cornerback kicks us off at number five. During his nine years with the team, he somehow picked off 39 passes, bringing seven of them back for touchdowns! He was also a tremendous tackler and very physical corner. There’s no wonder he made five Pro Bowls and five All-Pro teams.
4. Willie Wood
Willie Wood has the most individual awards to his name among all Packers’ defenders to ever play, accruing eight Pro Bowls, four All Pros, five NFL championships and two Super Bowls on his path to the Hall of Fame.
3. Charles Woodson
I may be a bit biased by putting Charles Woodson ahead of Adderley and Wood, but there’s no denying his greatness. After spending the first eight years of his career with the Oakland Raiders, Woodson was a big free agent signing for the Packers in 2006. His career took off upon his arrival, as he demonstrated elite playmaking, a high football I.Q. and a unique ability to always be around the football. During seven years in Green Bay, he somehow picked off 38 passes, forced 15 fumbles and racked up 11.5 sacks.
