The Green Bay Packers have been forced to make some difficult business decisions in recent seasons when deciding who to offer contracts to and who to let walk. Unfortunately, it’s looking like a couple of players they decided to move on from might be done in the NFL.

As much as the Packers would love to re-sign everyone at the right price, they must make tough choices about who to retain and who to walk. That has led to hurt feelings, but it’s the nature of the beast.

There are three players in particular who may be done in the NFL after not receiving contract offers from Green Bay or other teams.

These three former players on the Green Bay Packers might be done with their NFL careers for good.

Kevin King

Kevin King has struggled with injuries throughout his collegiate and professional career. It’s one of the most significant barriers he’s had to overcome in his life, and he was struck with another considerable injury this offseason.

After taking the 2022 season off to get his body right and healthy, he tore his achilles in an offseason workout and will miss the 2023 campaign as well. That’s a major blow for a human being who can’t seem to catch a break. He’s still just 28 years old, but it appears injuries may have derailed his NFL career.

Marcedes Lewis

The Packers have undergone a youth movement at several positions, including tight end. They allowed Robert Tonyan to sign with the Chicago Bears in free agency, haven’t made an offer to Marcedes Lewis and selected Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft on Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The door could still be open for Lewis to return to Green Bay, considering their need at the position. However, there hasn’t been any reported movement from either side and the longer he remains in free agency, the less likely he is to sign with someone.

Mason Crosby

Green Bay used a sixth-round pick on Anders Carlson, and he looks to be the favorite to become their new kicker. That’s a bit of a surprise, considering his inconsistency in college. Mason Crosby still reportedly owns a home in Green Bay, so that he could be just one call away. For now, it looks like his amazing career might be done.
