Tyler Goodson, Running Back

The Packers decided to keep just two running backs–Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon–on the initial 53-man roster a season ago, moving Tyler Goodson and Patrick Taylor to the practice squad. That’s a move they probably can’t risk this time around.

Goodson came out of nowhere as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and is even better in 2023. He worked out with Jones in the offseason and has earned high praise from his teammate.

Jones and Dillon will continue to eat up all the carries for the Packers–they’re too good and the Packers have too few proven weapons for the ball to go elsewhere. However, Goodson will have the opportunity to impact the offense in other ways and allow head coach Matt LaFleur to get creative with the offense.
