Takeaways from Packers’ minicamp: Zach Tom gets starting nod at right tackle
The biggest “surprise” on the offensive line was that Zach Tom got the starting nod at right tackle over Yosh Nijman. He’ll be battling Nijman throughout the offseason while fighting another war at center with Josh Myers. For now, Green Bay gave him the first crack on the outside.
Tom took over for Nijman late in the season after the latter struggled. He held his own as a rookie and will now look to take the next step. This doesn’t mean the matter is settled, but it was an interesting observation. From left to right, the other starters were David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, Myers, and Jon Runyan.
