5 Packers with money on the line entering contract years in 2023
Packers with money on the line: A.J. Dillon
Dillon took a step back in 2022, unable to build off a solid 2021 campaign. That could affect the payday he’s searching for next year.
After being drafted in the second round in 2020, the Packers brought him along slowly. After barely playing in his rookie season, he took over as the lead backup behind Aaron Jones in 2021 and maintained that role in 2022. In the Packers’ offense, that means he receives plenty of opportunities in what almost amounts to a timeshare in the backfield.
On paper, Dillon has a good combination of size, power and quick feet. However, we haven’t seen him put that all together quite yet. He’ll need to if he wants to maximize the paychecks he receives next season.
