Packers with money on the line: Keisean Nixon

Following a breakout 2022 campaign that saw Keisean Nixon earn All-Pro honors as a kick-returner despite taking over that role only halfway through the season, Nixon bet on himself in the offseason. He signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Packers, allowing himself to hit free agency once again next year.

If he replicates his 2022 production, Nixon could be looking at a historical contract as a kick returner. That will be hard to do, considering how explosive he was last year and the NFL’s commitment to reducing the opportunities kick returners get.

Nixon could also expand his piggy bank by contributing on defense and offense. He’s slated as the team’s nickel corner beginning this offseason and will have the opportunity to prove he’s more than a one-trick pony. Could he also line up in some specialty packages on offense? Time will tell.
