Packers who need to right the ship: Kenny Clark

A concerning trend has developed under defensive coordinator Joe Barry: His best players don’t play their best football under him. Kenny Clark is one of their defensive studs who has regressed in the two years since Barry took over.

Two of Clark’s three lowest PFF grades have come in the last two seasons. This includes 2022, when he had his worst season, according to PFF, and only posted a 66.4 grade, ranking 45th among 127 qualified defensive linemen.

Clark is way too talented to simply flash here and there. He’s shown the ability to dominate for large stretches and both he and Barry need to figure out how to maximize that talent. It won’t get any easier this season with Jarran Reed and Dean Lowry departing in free agency.
