There comes a time for every young player in the NFL when they face the proverbial fork in the road. That time is coming for several young players on the Green Bay Packers.

The fork-in-the-road situation is a critical juncture that determines the outcome of a player’s career. They got their feet wet in the NFL, have had an offseason or two to adjust their training program to the speed and physicality, and will have the opportunity to adjust and grow their game.

There are four young role players on the Packers who will have an opportunity to sink or swim in 2023.

These four young players on the Green Bay Packers have uncertain roles with the team and in the NFL heading into the offseason.

Packers with uncertain futures: Jonathan Garvin

Garvin has found a way to stick around Green Bay the last three seasons, but that could be in jeopardy for 2023.

The Packers added first-round pick Lukas Van Ness to the outside linebacker room, and he joins Preston Smith, Rashan Gary, Kinglsey Enagbare and Justin Hollins as guys who are clearly ahead of Garvin on the depth chart. Garvin will primarily be battling LaDarius Hamilton for what could be the final edge spot on the depth chart. The loser will likely find himself on the practice squad.
