Ranking Milwaukee Bucks 3 finalists for head coach
After interviewing over a dozen candidates for the Milwaukee Bucks open head coach position, general manager Jon Horst and the front office have narrowed their scope to three finalists, according to ESPN: Nick Nurse, Kenny Atkinson and Adrian Griffin.
In their finalists, they’ve found a fired head coach, a current assistant with previous head coaching experience, and an assistant without head coaching experience. They stayed true to their word and conducted an open approach that touched on candidates across the spectrum.
The Bucks have the most attractive head coach opening on the market and should have their pick of candidates. Let’s rank the three from worst to first if that’s the case.
The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly down to three finalists for their head coach opening. Let’s rank the candidates from worst to first.
Ranking Bucks head coach finalists: Adrian Griffin
Griffin is the only contender without previous head coaching experience. That hurts him in these rankings, as the Bucks aren’t going to be patient as the lead decision-maker takes some bumps and bruises in the postseason. Their window is closing quickly, and they want to win now.
Of course, his mentor, Nurse, won the NBA Finals with the Toronto Raptors in his first year at the helm. However, that’s the exception and not the norm. Griffin also has nasty domestic violence allegations from his past that doesn’t gel with the culture Milwaukee has built.
