The Milwaukee Bucks are following through with their promise, casting a wide net searching for their next head coach after surprisingly firing Mike Budenholzer. With several reported candidates being interviewed for the job, clear tiers are being established.

So far, it’s been reported through various sources that Milwaukee is interviewing Monty Williams, Chris Quinn, Mark Jackson, Adrian Griffin, Kevin Young, Scott Brooks, James Borrego, Kenny Atkinson and Charles Lee. They could also pursue other candidates such as Nick Nurse, Steve Nash, or Frank Vogel.

With plenty of options out there, let’s cross four candidates off our list and hope the Bucks avoid them at all costs.

The Milwaukee Bucks should stay far away from these four candidates to replace Mike Budenholzer and become the next head coach.

Head coaches Bucks should avoid: Scott Brooks

Unfortunately, Milwaukee’s already been reported to have interviewed Brooks for their open position. He’s the current assistant coach on the Portland Trail Blazers and has head coaching experience with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards.

He’s an underwhelming candidate who has already failed twice as the head man. I’m not sure what he’s proven in the two years since his last gig to land another top job. He does have 97 games of playoff experience under his belt, but hasn’t led a team to a series victory since 2017.
