Front-runners to become Bucks’ head coach: Kenny Atkinson

Hiring Kenny Atkinson would signal a strong belief in analytics from the Bucks’ front office. Atkinson is seen as one of the top analytics coaches in the NBA, and that role helped him land his current job as an assistant coach with the Warriors.

Atkinson was the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets from 2016 to 2020, making the playoffs once in those four years. However, he was known for getting the most out of a depleted Nets’ roster and making the team more competitive than they should’ve been.

Since then, he’s spent time under Tyronne Lue and Steve Kerr. He turned down the Charlotte Hornets’ job last year and could be looking to land a top job in Milwaukee.
