Milwaukee Bucks: 5 front-runners to become next head coach
The Milwaukee Bucks continue their head coaching search after firing Mike Budenholzer five years into the job. They should be nearing a decision soon (Budenholzer was hired on May 16th, 2018).
Milwaukee is committed to casting a wide net and interviewing a plethora of candidates. Reports continue to emerge about the different people they’re interested in, drawing a spectrum of emotions from fans on social media.
I’ve narrowed down their list to the five front-runners they should consider.
These five candidates should be considered the front-runners to replace Mike Budenholzer and become the next head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Front-runners to become Bucks’ head coach: Adrian Griffin
Adrian Griffin enjoyed a nine-year NBA career that included stops in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle and Houston. He began his coaching career in 2008 as an assistant in Milwaukee, where he spent two years. Since then, he spent five years in Chicago, one in Orlando, two in Oklahoma City, and the last five in Toronto under Nick Nurse.
He’s one of the only candidates on this list without any previous head coaching experience. He’s been considered one of the top assistants for a couple of years now, and it’s only a matter of time until he gets an opportunity. It might be hard to see Milwaukee going with a first-year coach considering their championship expectations.
