Since we know when and where the season will play out, here is the good, bad and a record prediction for the Packers’ 2023 schedule.

With the Green Bay Packers’ 2023 schedule fully released, here is the good, the bad and a prediction for the upcoming season.

The Good

Jordan Love will get a reasonably easy start in his first season as the starter. Despite playing the first two games on the road, Green Bay will see two bad defenses in Chicago and Atlanta. Both teams were one of the worst defensive units last year and shouldn’t be much improved in 2023. Love will have an opportunity to build his confidence early on.

The Packers will also be able to get off to a hot start. They don’t see a 2022 playoff team until Week 8 when they host the Vikings. That will allow them to stack success, build confidence and get on a roll before the schedule turns darker.

Plenty of nationally televised games are on the schedule (five) with a sixth being played on Thanksgiving. Even without Rodgers, Green Bay is still a big draw.

The Bad

Relationships between fans and their significant others will be stressed to the max this holiday season. Green Bay not only plays on Thanksgiving, but they also have games on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. They also play on Indigenous Peoples Day. There will be a lot of conflicting activities on those days.

It feels like Green Bay is barely at home this season. They only have eight home games compared to nine away contests and don’t have more than two home games in a row. They only play two games at Lambeau in the first seven weeks (with a bye included) and two of their last three are on the road. Somehow, the NFL snuck eight home games into the schedule somewhere.

The Prediction

One positive of finishing in the middle of the division last year is that the Packers have a bit of an easier schedule this time. That’s good news for a young team who could benefit from early success and easier wins.

It’s not inconceivable to imagine the Packers finishing the season with a winning record. Games against Chicago (twice), Atlanta, New Orleans, Rams, Tampa Bay and Carolina help their chances at collecting some wins. A few upsets here and there, and the Packers could be right in the thick of the playoff race.

Prediction: 10-7
