Bold prediction for Packers in 2023 NFL Draft: Green Bay selects tight end in first round

I REALLY don’t want the Packers to draft a tight end in the first round of the draft. It’s a non-premium position, and the selection wouldn’t be worth their value. A good group of tight ends in this class would also be available on Day 2.

However, this isn’t about what I want, but what I predict the Packers will do.

Green Bay desperately needs a tight end after Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis left. Michael Mayer is the most complete tight end in the draft, demonstrating he can block and catch passes at an NFL level. Green Bay showed us last year they have no issue drafting non-premium positions in the first round when they took a defensive lineman and an inside linebacker, and they’ll do it again in 2023.
