Packers’ trade proposal for Rodgers: The Packers have all the leverage one

The Packers get the prized 13th overall pick in this trade, winning the battle of wills with the Jets. The 13th selection will give them two top 15 picks to address some major needs on their team, and would be the second time in two years they have two first-round selections.

However, the conditions on the 2024 pick aren’t as giving as the previous deal.

The 2024 pick is based solely on whether Rodgers plays next season, but is only a second or third-rounder if he returns. If he retires, the Packers don’t get an additional pick. This seems like a good compromise for both teams, as they are each digging their heels into their current position.
