Free agent tight ends still available for Packers: Dalton Schultz

It’s unclear why Dalton Schultz doesn’t have a team at the moment. He’s the best free agent tight end on the market and is only 26-years-old.

Schultz isn’t going to run past defenders or run away from them on routes. However, he’s a solid receiving threat with trustworthy hands and knows how to use his body to keep smaller defenders away from the ball. He also understands how to read zone defenses, providing quarterbacks with an outlet for the rock.

He’s also a quality blocker, something the Packers and Matt LaFleur prefer from their tight end. That passing/blocking combination make him worthy of a long, hard look from Green Bay.
