Bucks Give Up 22 Three-Points In Loss To Pacers

Milwaukee fell to the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night 139-122 by giving up a whopping 84 second-half points. Milwaukee could not stop the shorthanded Pacers over the final two quarters, as Indiana carved up their defense in multiple ways.

One of the most concerning was the Bucks’ three-point defense. They routinely left shooters to overhelp on drives, only to see the ball find their man behind the arc and then find its way into the bottom of the net. Don’t get me wrong, Indiana shot incredibly well (22-46 from deep), but Milwaukee made their life easier by failing to contest shots.

After the game, head coach Mike Budenholzer didn’t like what he saw, “It wasn’t very good. I thought we lost shooters too much,” he said when discussing the Bucks’ three-point defense. “I think that’s probably the thing. I think just too much help on penetration, areas where we’re trying to work and get better. And we’ll learn from it.”

Milwaukee was without Brook Lopez for the game, perhaps, impacting the player’s mentality about protecting the rim. Jrue Holiday was a major offender, often helping unnecessarily before seeing his man drain a three. Only one thing to do from here: Improve and move forward.

Robert Tonyan Signs With Chicago Bears

The Packers re-signed Tyler Davis, but lost Robert Tonyan to the Chicago Bears. Tonyan signed a one-year deal with Chicago and will have now played with three of the four teams in the NFC North (the Minnesota Vikings are the lone exception). Green Bay must find a veteran free agent to add some depth. Likely, they’ll also add a high draft pick.
