Packers optimistic about Rashan Gary’s recovery

The Packers’ biggest loss during their 2022 season was when they lost Rashan Gary to an ACL tear in the middle of the year. Gary was their best defensive player, relentlessly chasing the quarterback and setting the tone on that side of the ball.

His loss meant Preston Smith received more attention from opposing blockers, and others needed to step up. Edge was one of the Packers’ thinnest positions and remains one of need heading into the offseason.

There’s still a long way to go in his recovery, but Gutekunst was happy with where he’s at. He talked about diligently he’s working in rehab and added, “We expect full recovery and hopefully we’ll ease him back into it like we always do in camp. We’re very optimistic there.” That’s good news as we turn the calendar to March.
