Packers trying to restructure David Bakhtiari’s contract

Green Bay has already been busy cutting money from their 2023 salary cap via restructuring deals. Preston Smith, Jaire Alexander, and Kenny Clark have already restructured their deals and Aaron Jones agreed to rework his.

David Bakhtiari could be next.

Gutekunst shared they are working on a restructuring of Bakhtiari’s contract and expect to be able to announce the deal soon. Bakhtiari has only played in 12 games in two years after tearing his ACL in December of 2020. His massive cap hit of $28 million is a major roadblock to Green Bay clearing cap space this offseason. We’ll see how far they negotiate it down.
