The Green Bay Packers are preparing for significant changes this offseason. They’re also preparing to run it back. The possibilities are open and there’s only one way to figure out how things will play out.

Packers’ general manager Brian Gutekunst spoke with the media earlier this week at the NFL’s scouting combine and revealed some interesting nuggets of information. He won’t reveal exactly what their plans are this offseason, but it was some insightful information.

So, without further ado, here are seven takeaways from his conversation with the media.

Here are seven takeaways from Green Bay Packers’ general manager Brian Gutekunst speaking with the media at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Packers expect Mason Crosby to return

After a wonderful career with the Packers, Mason Crosby is hitting unrestricted free agency. Some fans thought Green Bay might go in a different direction, but it sounds like the Packers want Crosby back.

“To be able to kick in Lambeau Field in clutch situations, I mean any new kicker, that’s gonna be tough for those guys. That takes time and Mason has that” Gutekunst said while speaking to reporters. “He has that experience. I think you’ll see a stronger leg and a different power in his leg on kickoffs this coming year just because he won’t be coming off that surgery.” That sure sounds like a GM who expects Crosby to be back next season.
